Beechwood Staff undergo fire safety training

16 April 2008

Recent research reveals that there are as many as 150,000 fires in UK workplaces every year.

Whilst arson remains a significant problem, most fires are accidental and the primary cause of workplace fires is human error. Such workplace accidents often lead to small fires which could spread rapidly without the intervention of trained employees.

Fire safety training here at Beechwood helps staff to identify the causes of fire, to prevent an outbreak of fire and to minimise the damage should a fire occur. This safeguards the animals in our care, our employees the workplace and the business from the danger and destruction of fire.

Each member of staff attended a lecture and then had `hands on` training with various types of fire extinguisher.
