Dr Aina Yndestad-Mace

Aina, originally from Norway, graduated with the highest distinction from the Veterinary University of Budapest in November 2005. Shortly after she moved to South Yorkshire with her cat Mitzi to work for a group of small animal practices in Sheffield and Rotherham. Aina was awarded their Vet of the Year in her second year, after taking charge of her branch surgery.

In July 2014 Aina joined Beechwood Veterinary Hospital where she would like to develop her interest in ophthalmology. Aina enjoys all aspects of general small animal practice, and besides ophthalmology has interests in anaesthesia, all forms of surgery and clinical nutrition. She won the European contest in Nutrition for veterinary students in 2005. Outside of work Aina and her Yorkshire husband like to go for walks with their rescue dog, a staffordshire bull terrier called George Bush. Aina also likes travelling, eating cake, Monty Python, and when inspired, painting. She goes back to Norway a few times a year when she misses the family, mountains, fjords, and brown cheese.
