Dr Chris Dale

MA VetMB CertSAD MRCVS. Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Dermatology.

Chris qualified from Cambridge University in 1980 and is our visiting dermatologist.

He was awarded the Certificate in Small Animal Dermatology in 1991 and likes nothing more than a challenging skin or ear case. Veterinary Surgeons across the north of England refer cats and dogs with dermatological problems for investigation and treatment.

The British Small Animal Veterinary Association takes up a lot of his spare time. Chris has been Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary of the North East Region, organising scientific meetings for fellow veterinary surgeons. He is currently a member of the BSAVA Publications Committee commissioning veterinary textbooks used world wide.

Outside work Chris is the proud “owner” of 2 dogs, five ferrets, 3 children, a chainsaw and a wood burning stove. He likes to garden (with no skill) and cook. Rock music is an important part of his life and he still likes to go to gigs, including muddy festivals with his tent! Other passions include cinema and steam trains. He gained the RCVS Advanced Practitioner Status in Small Animal Dermatology in 2015.

When other commitments allow he likes to read the occasional book – especially thrillers.
